Alexander Straus’s team have been victorious in all their games so far in pre-season, claiming a 5-2 win over St. Gallen of Switzerland, a 3-0 success against Ingolstadt and most recently a 7-0 thrashing of Czech side Slavia Prague. The squad spent most of last week at a training camp in Tyrol.

Opponent: Juventus
Juventus finished as runners-up in last year’s Serie A Femminile. Italy’s Old Lady have also enjoyed good results in pre-season with a 6-1 win over Swiss side Servette, a 4-1 victory against Colo Colo of Chile and a 1-0 triumph over Brazil’s Palmeiras.
Team news
Lena Oberdorf (cruciate ligament) and Katharina Naschenweng (knee joint) are both still unavailable for this match. The players who were part of Germany’s bronze medal-winning team at the Paris Olympics – Klara Bühl, Giulia Gwinn, Lea Schüller and Sydney Lohmann – are all back in the squad following their breaks. Ana Maria Guzman (knee), Anna Wellmann (muscular) and Ena Mahmutovic (foot) are all back in training but not yet ready to face Juventus.

What the coach says
Alexander Straus: “Pre-season has gone very well and we’ve kept improving. Our friendly opponents have also gotten better with every game, and now we’re facing a real top team. Juventus are on the same level as Roma, who we played against in the Champions League last year. We’re looking forward to the game, where the performance will obviously be more important than the result. We’ll work hard on Tuesday, and that’ll do us some more good in our final friendly match.”
