Last time out, they collected their fifth win of the league season with a 1-0 success against SGS Essen. In the cup, goals from Samantha Steuerwald and Greta Stegemann booked their place in the round of 16 in a 2-1 win over 1. FC Nürnberg.
The team news
Head coach Straus will once again be without Lena Oberdorf (cruciate ligament), Katharina Naschenweng (knee) and Franziska Kett (ankle) as well as Mala Grohs (illness). Magou Doucouré, Luzie Zähringer and Juliane Schmid travelled back to Munich from Oslo and will play for the reserve team against Eintracht Frankfurt II on Sunday.
The pre-match quotes
Giulia Gwinn: "It'll be important to show good energy on the day, to be on it from the start and impose our game. We still have unfinished business with Freiburg from the last league game. We certainly want to produce a different performance to that, get the job done and get through to the next round."
Alexander Straus: "Freiburg have demonstrated that they're a good side, it'll be another difficult game. Even if we're just a few percentage points off it, we keep these games open. Freiburg are a team who work hard and are always highly motivated, especially against us."
FCB Women advanced to the Champions League quarter-finals on Thursday evening with two matches to spare:
