Visitors to the FC Bayern Museum in the Allianz Arena can now look forward to a new eye-catching attraction: in an exclusive Harry Kane display case, exhibits trace the striker's remarkable maiden season. Among other things, there's a fax of a note Kane wrote at the age of five. "I could crawl, I could cry, I can swim, I want to play football," it reads. Pretty much a little wish list from the young Harry back then, and rather fitting now in the festive season.
Kane's move to FC Bayern in the summer of 2023 was one of the most sensational transfers in the club's history - and for the centre-forward, the start of a hugely successful maiden season, which is being publicly documented for the first time in the display case. “The move to the Bundesliga and a club as big as Bayern was an exciting challenge and unique experience for me,” reflected the England captain on the unveiling of the display case in the FC Bayern Museum. “My family and I feel very much at home in Munich. The trophies from this first year at FC Bayern have only strengthened my commitment to bringing more titles to the club.”
The exhibits in the display case provide an impressive overview of Kane's spectacular successes in his first season at FC Bayern: for example, the 2023/24 Golden Shoe award for being top scorer in the European leagues with 36 goals (in 32 games) is on display, as is the top scorer cannon for the 2023/24 Bundesliga season. In addition, the trophies for being the top scorer in the 2023/24 Champions League campaign with eight goals in 12 matches and the top scorer at UEFA EURO 2024 (three goals in seven matches) can also be viewed, as is the Gerd Müller Trophy for scoring 52 goals across all competitions in games for FC Bayern and the England national team.
In addition to the trophies, other exhibits tell the story of this extraordinary season, like the jersey from the Bundesliga home game against Darmstadt in which Kane scored a hat-trick in the 8-0 win on 28 October 2023 - complete with a long-range effort from inside his own half. Or the match ball from the 4-0 win at Borussia Dortmund, in which the centre-forward also contributed three goals. Kane's special significance for the Three Lions is also documented by the match-worn England jersey and captain's armband from the friendly against Scotland, which England won 3-1 on 12 September 2023 - also thanks to a goal from the number 9. And visitors to the FC Bayern Museum can see that the centre-forward is living his dream at FC Bayern from the note he wrote as a young boy.
The FC Bayern Museum will be open daily from 10:00 - 18:00 CET during the festive season, but from 24 to 26 December and on 31 December and 1 January operations will be suspended in the premises in the Allianz Arena, which have thrilled over 500,000 visitors this year. In addition to the Harry Kane display case, another one was added in the autumn for a very special player: Dedicated to Thomas Müller, it displays exhibits such as his jersey, the boots he wore especially for the occasion and the unique wooden figure FC Bayern commissioned from the Herrgottsschnitzern carvers, which highlights the fact that the striker became the German record champions' record player this season.
