FC Bayern Munich's basketball team achieved its second victory in their third game and are thus booked early into the play-off quarter-finals of the Final10 tournament. 90-55 was the final score in the Audi Dome against the combative, but also weakened BG Goettingen. Once again, all the Bayern players were in good shape, and coach Kostic was able to use his bench depth. Diego Flaccadori, who has been shooting with his (off-hand) right hand lately, topped his career high with 13 points. January newcomer Zan Mark Sisko also reached a personal best in the BBL with nine points. Top scorer was captain Danilo Barthel with 19 points.
On Sunday (14.6, 19:00) Bayern will conclude the group stage against Oldenburg. The defending champion wants to secure second place in Group A.

Quotes:
FCBB head coach, Oliver Kostic: "Congratulations to my players for a good performance. We played hard and focused. Every game here in the tournament is important, even every training session, to be able to take further steps forward. We can build on the game today. We've been able to spread the load over all the players, which is also positive."
TJ Bray: "We did a good job getting into a good position with intensity from the beginning. Our defense stood and then we used our depth to make them tired. I myself was able to recover further after the long injury break and I feel good now."
Danilo Barthel: "We were aggressive from the beginning. You can see from the score that we defended very hard and were concentrated over long distances. You don't have much time to get better and get into a rhythm. So we have to use every game to work on ourselves, even if we already have a clear lead. Everybody did today, that's why we looked confident in the end."
Diego Flaccadori: "We played a good game and defended strongly from the start. Goettingen had a good phase in the meantime, but then we improved again on defense and kept up the whole game with this intensity."
1st halftime
The FCBB started with Bray, Ismet Akpinar, Vladimir Lucic, Barthel and Mathias Lessort. Bayern started the game well and took a lead at the beginning and took a 7-0 lead. After what they saw as a weak start, the Lower Saxons showed their quality and went on a 10-0 run of their own in the middle of the opening quarter - which forced Coach Kostic to take his first time-out down 13-12. The break showed a good effect and the FCBB refocused and started a 10-0 run. In the second quarter it took the defending champion a full three minutes to put a ball in the basket - Bray hit a three and Barthel dunked on a fast break to bring a 31-24 lead. In the last three minutes the offense found itself and a 12-1 run ensured a comfortable break at half time.
2nd half time
Even after the break Bayern kept up the intensity, especially on defense and gradually extended their lead, 55-31. This was due in large part to a 20-1 run which put the game away early. The Munich team knew how to use their physical advantages to score under the basket. Shortly before the final quarter the lead amounted to almost 30 points at 71-42. The game was decided early and Kostic used this to distribute the minutes amongst his squad. Sisko made use of his time and drilled every one of his three-point attempts in the final quarter. In the end, the "away team" scored a convincing and unchallenged success, which led to an early ticket to the quarter finals.
