It's the reigning champions against last year's runners-up this Saturday (18:30 CET) at the Allianz Arena as FC Bayern welcome RB Leipzig for a highly billed Bundesliga clash. On Tuesday morning, FCB began preparations for the clash against the side currently sixth in the table. After a weekend without a match, coach Julian Nagelsmann challenged his team with some tactical drills after warming-up.
Neuer completes fitness training
Excluding Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Bouna Sarr, who are in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations with their national teams, Alphonso Davies (suspected myocarditis) and Leon Goretzka (rehab), goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was also not on the training pitch. Bayern's captain completed a fitness training session at the performance centre.
Leipzig in good form
After two recent commanding victories against 1. FC Köln (4-0) and Hertha BSC (4-1), Bayern want to further consolidate their lead at the top of the table against Leipzig. The side from Saxony, however, have come out of the winter break strongly. Coach Domenico Tedesco's team have four wins from four matches in all competitions this year. Either way, a real firecracker of a match awaits the record champions. In the coming days of prep, it's a case of laying the groundwork to do the best possible job against Leipzig.
