Bayern start new year with open training

Pack ma's! Thirteen days after the last competitive match of 2023, the new year has started for FC Bayern. To begin with, the Munich men completed an open training session in front of their fans on Tuesday afternoon. For coach Thomas Tuchel and his team, it's about using the short period of preparation to lay the foundations for a second half of the season. The action resumes already on 12 January with the Bundesliga home game against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

Absent from Tuesday's session were Bouna Sarr (cruciate ligament tear), Serge Gnabry (groin strain) and Alphonso Davies, who will rejoin the team on Wednesday, as well as Noussair Mazraoui (Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco) and Minjae Kim (Asian Cup with South Korea), who have been selected for the continental championships taking place in the coming weeks. Konrad Laimer worked individually on the adjoining pitch.

After the warm-up routine, the programme consisted of several passing and match situation drills. At the end of the session, Harry Kane, Thomas Müller and Co fulfilled the many autograph and selfie obligations from the fans in attendance.
