FC Bayern continued their preparations for the weekend’s Bundesliga game against Werder Bremen at their training camp in Faro, Portugal on Tuesday. Head coach Thomas Tuchel was without centre-back duo Dayot Upamecano and Matthijs de Ligt as they sat out training.
New signing Eric Dier also left the training camp on Tuesday ahead of the imminent birth of his first child.
After the first two training sessions in Portugal on Monday, Tuesday morning’s third workout included match scenario and tactical elements. Following a number of running and passing drills, Tuchel – who was often heard shouting praise – and his staff worked further on some tactical processes. The players then got to enjoy getting down to real business with a match.
Manuel Neuer and the goalkeepers were training to one side with special glasses and a rebounder that diverts the ball in different directions. Neuer then took on Thomas Müller, Leon Goretzka and Frans Krätzig in a crossbar challenge. The players were given the afternoon off.
