FC Bayern Audi Summer Tour Seoul

Recap: What happened on Sunday in Seoul

The fourth day of the Audi Summer Tour was also the day of departure from Seoul for FC Bayern. But before that, there were again numerous items in the diary, with the players taking on a South Korean jokgu team, visiting a fitness influencer and painting a canvas with vernacular letters to express their heartfelt thanks for the Koreans' hospitality. Here are the highlights of Sunday on the Audi Summer Tour:

Audi Summer Tour Get-Together

For the ceremonial conclusion to the Audi Summer Tour, the FC Bayern players and staff got together with partners and friends high over the rooftops of Seoul for a pleasant closing event. In the relaxed 'Audi Summer Tour Get-Together' on the top floor of the Naru Hotel, with a breathtaking view over the South Korean capital, the delegates fortified themselves for the upcoming return flight. In the evening hours, they headed straight from the hotel to the airport, and from there to Munich. "Thank you to everyone who made this trip possible," said executive vice chairman Michael Diederich in his closing remarks. "And thank you to everyone who's contributed to us having such a great experience in Korea these past few days."

Defeat in jokgu

Joshua Kimmich, Nestory Irankunda, Josip Stanišić and Raphaël Guerreiro benefited from the pleasantly cool air conditioning in the team hotel during their round of jokgu, a fusion of volleyball and tennis, against a team of South Korean legends. Although Kimmich confidently announced that they would now "blow away" their opponents, FC Bayern ultimately suffered a clear 15-6 defeat in the game, in which you're only allowed to use your head and feet. In classic football tennis according to FC Bayern rules, the Munich men lost 15-10 despite some impressive Portuguese moves from Guerreiro and a power header from Kimmich.

Exercise and health

In a gym close to the team hotel, Minjae Kim and fitness influence Kim Jong Kook spoke about the importance of exercise and sport for health. Fitness wasn't the only topic of conversation though. KJK, who's also a singer and presenter in South Korea, naturally wanted to know everything about the match between Bayern and Tottenham on the day before. Serge Gnabry may not have scored a goal there, but he demonstrated his famous stirring celebration and learned that South Korean fans are also crazy about this celebration pose. Minjae finished off with his favourite strength exercise, before the Bayern players returned to the team hotel.

Painting in Korean

Mathys Tel can read and write – as we have known at least since his diary about the Audi Summer Tour – as can Eric Dier and Jamal Musiala. But painting the word "thank you" on a canvas in Korean with a traditional writing brush is something else. The three Bayern players managed to do it anyway, in the Sangam MBC, an inner courtyard of a business complex. However, the three also used a South Korean template to help them. The result was a three-part "thank you" in the local language, which couldn't be big enough anyway after the days of hospitality in Seoul.

Fan experience with Neuer: Meet & Greet from 188BET

This moment will be remembered for a lifetime! At the invitation of 188BET, 30 fans from China, Japan, Vietnam and Thailand met our captain Manuel Neuer at a Meet & Greet. The fans' joy and pride at encountering the number one was written all over their faces, but Neuer also enjoyed the warm atmosphere and the dialogue. The 38-year-old was visibly impressed by his first visit to Korea: "It was my first time in Korea and I really enjoyed it. Especially the atmosphere in the stadium yesterday with the two fan camps was great."

Photo shoot in Yeouido Park

There was a special photo shoot at the Yeouijeong Pavilion in Yeouido Park, where Sacha Boey and Aleksandar Pavlović showcased FC Bayern's home jersey with the Korean lettering, helped by influencer Younes Zarou. Before heading back to the team hotel, Boey and Pavlovic used the pavilion in the park to play a game of football. The shirts are still available for purchase at the FC Bayern pop-up store in Seoul.
