Record start & more: Top three facts on a top win against Dortmund

With the 2-1 victory over closest pursuers Borussia Dortmund, FC Bayern underlined their current dominant position in the Bundesliga in impressive fashion. Vincent Kompany’s side made it 11 wins from 11 games in all competitions this season, equalling the record start in German professional football, which was set by none other than opponents Dortmund in 2015. In the Bundesliga, the Reds now have 21 points after seven matches as well as a goal difference of +32, the best record at this stage in the history of the league.

He scores, and scores, and scores… Harry Kane was on the scoresheet for the seventh consecutive competitive match against BVB, equalling his best run in an FCB shirt. The Englishman is now on 22 goals in all competitions this season, which no other player in Europe’s top leagues comes close to. What’s more, Kane’s strike in the top-of-the-table clash was a further milestone as it was the England captain’s 400th competitive goal at club level. 104 of those have come in his 107 appearances for Bayern.

There can only be one! Manuel Neuer celebrated his 363rd win in his 531st Bundesliga game against Dortmund, which moves the FCB captain above long-time teammate Thomas Müller (362 wins) as the outright record-holder for most wins in the competition.
