FC Bayern Women claimed a commanding 5-0 win at home to RB Leipzig on Saturday afternoon, making it six straight victories in the Google Pixel Bundesliga for the still unbeaten defending champions.
Pernille Harder opened the scoring inside just two minutes, before Lea Schüller bagged a first-half brace with further strikes in the fourth and 19th minute. Harder also got her second after the break, with Linda Dallmann rounding off proceedings in added time as Bayern moved onto 42 points to open up a four-point advantage over Wolfsburg, who the Munich ladies visit next weekend.

No changes
Head coach Alexander Straus kept the same team that started last weekend’s 2-1 win away at Eintracht Frankfurt. He remained without Carolin Simon (cruciate ligament), Weronika Zawistowska (cruciate ligament), Cecilia Ran Runarsdottir (kneecap), Ana Maria Guzman (knee), Tainara (illness) and Franziska Kett (muscular).
A voice for diversity

Ahead of kick-off, the players joined together with their Leipzig counterparts to help spread the message of Bayern’s ‘Red against Racism’ club campaign.

A historic first
This game was also the first time in the 54-year history of women’s football at Bayern that the team played in their own unique jersey. The exclusive design was created in collaboration with LeGer by Lena Gercke and adidas, together with Bayern’s players.

Dream start
Bayern could hardly have made a better start to the game as they took less than 120 seconds to get their first goal. Sarah Zadrazil sent Harder away to beat goalkeeper Elvira Herzog. The second goal came barely two minutes later when Jovana Damnjanovic squared for Schüller to tap in.
Bayern continued to dominate the play, but the visitors did have a couple of moments, with goalkeeper Maria Luisa Grohs producing a good save to deny Mimmi Larsson on the counter. Schüller grabbed her second not long after when Herzog failed to hold a Giulia Gwinn effort, allowing the Germany international striker to put into the empty net for a 3-0 half-time lead. There was one negative from the first half as Damjanovic went off injured.

Two more after the break
Bayern shifted down a gear after the restart as play calmed down, but Leipzig failed to make anything out of it on their first Bundesliga visit to the Campus. With nearly an hour played, Magdalena Eriksson came on for her comeback after a broken metatarsal.
It turned into a joyful couple of minutes as Harder then got her second and Bayern’s fourth when she turned in after build-up from substitutes Dallmann and Sydney Lohmann. The Bundesliga champions then got a fifth in added time when Dallmann put away Katharina Naschenweng’s cross.

Top-of-the-table encounter in Wolfsburg before semi-final
Bayern’s next game is the big one as they visit second-placed Wolfsburg at the Volkswagen Arena next Saturday at 5.45pm CET. The following Sunday is the DFB Cup semi-final clash at home to Eintracht Frankfurt.
