Heavyweight clash in quarter-finals: FC Bayern Women at home to Eintracht Frankfurt

The draw for the Women's DFB Cup quarter-finals has thrown up a real cracker! FC Bayern Women will host current Bundesliga leaders Eintracht Frankfurt in a heavyweight clash. The draw was made on Sunday afternoon and conducted by DFB vice-president Peter Frymuth and German handball international Julian Köster. The tie will be played between 11 and 13 February 2025 in Munich.

If you want to become cup winners, you have to beat every opponent. I'm looking forward to it, I want to be back in the final and finally win the trophy, so we'll take every opponent as they come. I'm sure we'll produce another very good performance.

Carolin Simon

In-form Frankfurt have yet to concede a goal in the cup this season. A 10-0 thrashing of Regionalliga side 1. FFV Erfurt in the second round was followed by a 2-0 success at second-tier club 1. FC Union Berlin, where Tanja Pawollek and Barbara Dunst scored two late goals to seal Eintracht's place in the quarter-finals.

The last meeting between the two teams came on Matchday 8 of the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga in early November and finished 1-1. Pernille Harder put the Munich girls in front at the FC Bayern Campus stadium but Nicole Anyomi levelled in the 68th minute.

As a Bundesliga club, Bayern also entered the competition at the second-round stage, where they met second-division side SC Sand. In their third competitive fixture of the season, last season's runners-up got the job done with ease and progressed to the next round with a 6-0 win. In the last 16, Alexander Straus' side beat SC Freiburg 2-1 to reach the last eight.
