FC Bayern Women won their first title of the new season by beating Wolfsburg 4-2 in Karlsruhe to retain the Google Pixel Supercup. Club president Herbert Hainer, CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and board member for sport Max Eberl congratulated the Munich Frauen on their latest trophy.

Herbert Hainer, FC Bayern president: “First impressions count, and when you get a trophy out of that, it shows that the hunger for success remains unabated even under new coach José Barcala. Congratulations to our women’s team on retaining the Supercup. It was a good omen last season, so let’s hope for the same.”

Jan-Christian Dreesen, FC Bayern CEO: “What our men can do, so can our women. Both teams have won this year’s Supercup. Congratulations. It’s a perfect start to the season. Now we can look forward to the opening Bundesliga game at the Allianz Arena against Leverkusen on 6 September – another milestone in front of a record crowd.”

Max Eberl, FC Bayern board member for sport: “A new coach, new impetus but building on the success of last season. Congratulations to José Barcala on this debut and to the entire women’s team. Keep up the success!”
