Bühl and Co. up against Asian Cup finalists
The DFB Frauen, who already secured their World Cup berth during the last round of fixtures, will face Australia and Japan – the two finalists of the 2026 Women’s Asian Cup – during this international break. Four FCB players – Klara Bühl, Linda Dallmann, Franziska Kett and Ena Mahmutovic – have been handed call-ups. Germany will kick things off by hosting Australia in Karlsruhe on Friday 9 October (20:30). Four days later, they'll face Japan in Bremen (17:45). Momoko Tanikawa will first take on Haiti with Japan. Germany captain Giulia Gwinn will miss the fixtures after tearing a lateral ligament in her left ankle.
There are also two FCB women in the Germany U23 squad: Alara and Sarah Mattner will first face Scotland, before then taking on Sweden. Kassandra Potsi, Sophie Klein and Hanna Wegscheider have all been called up to the Germany U19 squad.
