Bayern end Asia trip with heavyweight clash against Liverpool

FC Bayern's last friendly on the Audi Summer Tour rounds off the German record champions' trip around Asia with a real top clash. Thomas Tuchel's side take on English giants Liverpool for the Singapore Trophy on Wednesday (13:30 CEST). You can watch the match live in German and English with FC Bayern TV PLUS.

The state of play for Bayern

Before the Bayern party set off home to Munich on Wednesday night, they have another chance to test themselves at a high level against Jürgen Klopp's team. Following the 2-1 defeat against Manchester City and the 1-0 win against Kawasaki Frontale in Tokyo, Matthijs de Ligt and Co want to end with another victory – and preferably without conceding. "We have defenders with good quality," said the 23-year-old Dutchman, talking in a press conference about the competition in defence and three days after Minjae Kim's impressive debut against Kawasaki. "It's good because it means you have to fight for your spot. Hopefully we can make a successful season together as a whole team."

The opponents: Liverpool

After two friendlies in Japan, the Bavarians now take on Liverpool in Singapore, which Tuchel praised as a "nice, clean and well-organised city". The historic English club beat Leicester City 4-0 at the Singapore National Stadium on Sunday and are now looking ahead to the highlight of their pre-season programme, although it won't be their first meeting with German opponents before the start of this year's Premier League season.
