The first international break of the 2022/23 season is coming up, and several Bayern players have been called up for their national teams. For European countries, it’s the final two games of the UEFA Nations League group stage. fcbayern.com rounds up who’s been called up and where they’ll be playing.
Germany: Neuer, Kimmich, Gnabry, Goretzka, Sane, Müller, Musiala
Seven FC Bayern players will be in action for Germany in September. Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry, Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sane, Thomas Müller and Jamal Musiala will first face Hungary in Leipzig on Friday, 23 September in the Nations League. They’re then at Wembley in London to close out the group stage against England on Monday, 26 September. Germany are currently second in Group A3 with six points from four games – a point behind Hungary and therefore with their destiny in their own hands.
France: Upamecano and Pavard
There are two Bayern players included in the France squad with Dayot Upamecano and Benjamin Pavard. Les Bleus will face Austria in Paris on Thursday, 22 September before heading to Copenhagen to take on Denmark on Sunday, 25 September. The world champions currently have just two points from their four games and sit bottom of Nations League Group A1 with two matches to go. Kingsley Coman and Lucas Hernandez miss out due to injury.
Netherlands: de Ligt
Matthijs de Ligt will represent the Netherlands this month as Louis van Gaal’s team take on Poland in Warsaw on Thursday, 22 September and then host Belgium in Amsterdam on Sunday, 25 September. The Dutch currently top Nations League Group A4 with 10 points, three ahead of Belgium.

Bayern defender Josip Stanisic has been called up again by Croatia. Zlatko Dalic’s team are second in Nations League Group A1 on seven points ahead of their meeting with leaders Denmark (nine points) in Zagreb on Thursday, 22 September. Victory at home would see them go top before the final match away at Austria on Sunday, 25 September.

Senegal and Bayern forward Sadio Mane have two friendly matches on the cards, first taking on Bolivia in the French city of Orleans on Saturday, 24 September. The African champions then play against Iran in Austria on Tuesday, 27 September.
