One day after the emphatic 7-0 win at home VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga and two days before the DFB Cup first round clash at Preußen Münster, there was a traditional appointment on the schedule for the players, coaching staff and management. On the second Sunday of Oktoberfest, Bayern gathered - dressed suitably, of course - together with their families at Theresienwiese for the team's annual visit to the festival.
The atmosphere was excellent, with Thomas Müller and Co being able to toast the seven-goal spectacle against Bochum, the 4-3 win over Manchester United in the Champions League in midweek and a good start to the Bundesliga in general with 13 points and 18 goals from five games. "Today we can sit at the table with a relaxed grin and just enjoy the moment," said veteran Müller.
Organised by partner Paulaner, coach Thomas Tuchel and his team spent several hours in the Käfer tent. In particular for new signings like Harry Kane, Minjae Kim and Konrad Laimer, it was a nice opportunity to get to know their teammates and their families better. Jamal Musiala also enjoyed the company: "Everyone's in good spirits. We can have a bit of fun. We'll enjoy the day."
"It's been a perfect weekend," said sporting director Christoph Freund at his first FCB Oktoberfest visit following the 7-0 thrashing of Bochum on Saturday. Now it's about looking ahead and regenerating in order to progress to the second round of the cup in their next match in Münster on Tuesday (20:45 CEST).
