Germany to open Euro 2024 against Scotland at the Allianz Arena

The draw for the group stage of Euro 2024 in Germany next summer was made on Saturday at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. A number of Bayern players are set to be involved at the tournament, which takes place between 14 June and 14 July. Find out which teammates may come up against each other in the finals.

Germany vs. Scotland in opening game

Germany, which could include Bayern’s Serge Gnabry, Leon Goretzka, Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, Thomas Müller and Manuel Neuer, will kick off the tournament on home soil with the opening match against Scotland at the Allianz Arena on 14 June. Hungary and Switzerland have also been drawn into Group A.

The eyes of Europe will be on Munich’s Allianz Arena as Euro 2024 kicks off with Germany against Scotland on 14 June.

Harry Kane’s England have been put into Group C with Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia. The first matchday in Group D could see a Bayern clash as France’s Dayot Upamecano and Kingsley Coman face Konrad Laimer’s Austria. A bumper group is completed by Matthijs de Ligt’s Netherlands and the winner of play-off A.

Israel’s play-off hopes

Should Israel and Daniel Peretz make it through the play-offs, they will go into Group E alongside Belgium, Slovakia and Romania. Portugal and Raphael Guerreiro are in Group F with Turkey, Czech Republic and the winner of play-off C.

As well as the opening game on 14 June, Bayern’s home will also host a semi-final on 9 July. A total of six matches are set to be played in Munich. Having hosted four fixtures at the pan-European Euro 2020, the Allianz Arena is therefore the first stadium to be a host venue at consecutive European Championships.
