“It’s been clear over the last few games that Leroy is in good form, which is why he’s started so often. We’ve got great talent in the team, and he’s one of those players who’s helped us a lot at the moment and scored important goals. I’ve got no doubt that he’ll keep taking us forward,” said head coach Vincent Kompany of Leroy Sané prior to the Borussia Dortmund game. And Bayern fans have agreed with those sentiments, naming Sané the club’s Player of the Month for March.
Three goals in Bundesliga
Kompany’s praise is also reflected in the numbers. Sané has started six of the last seven Bundesliga fixtures, contributing important goals in Bayern’s title push. He came off the bench to open the scoring in last month’s 1-1 draw at Union Berlin, while he also bagged a brace in the 3-2 win at home to St. Pauli. From 39 competitive appearances this season, the 29-year-old has scored 11 goals and provided five assists.

Just ahead of Müller and Olise
Sané received 17 percent of votes from fans, coming out just ahead of Thomas Müller (15.2 percent) and February’s winner Michael Olise (14.2 percent). It’s Sané’s first monthly award of the season and underlines his improving form throughout the campaign. He joins Jamal Musiala (three), Olise (two), Müller and Joshua Kimmich as winners of the fan vote.
