Bayern’s first away trip of the new Bundesliga season is also their shortest as they head to Augsburg. Vincent Kompany’s men haven’t lost on their travels in the league since a 2-1 defeat to Mainz in December, winning six and drawing three of the ensuing nine games. With Michael Olise looking to continue a personal run and Harry Kane having a thing for Augsburg, here’s all the stats you need to know ahead of Saturday’s Bavarian derby.
Statement opening win
The 6-0 win at home to RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga’s opening game will have given Bayern real added confidence. Only once before has a team kicked off with a bigger margin of victory, and that was FCB themselves when they thrashed Schalke 8-0 in 2020/21. But it wasn’t just in the goals charts where Bayern dominated proceedings on Matchday 1. Joshua Kimmich & Co. also played the most passes of any team (656). At the other end of that chart, only Union Berlin (198) managed fewer last weekend than Augsburg (299).
Take a closer look at Augsburg ahead of Saturday’s meeting:
Pleasant day trips to Augsburg
The men from Munich boast an impressive record from their previous Bundesliga trips to Augsburg, winning 10 out of 14 games there (D1, L3). That win rate of 71 percent is Bayern’s highest against any team they’ve visited at last 10 times in the Bundesliga.

Although once a striker himself, Sandro Wagner will have to try and get to grips with Bayern’s attack. Kane in particularly enjoys a Bavarian derby, with seven Bundesliga goals scored against Augsburg – more than against any other team in Germany. The England captain already has five goals to his name this week, including a second-half hat-trick against Leipzig. He did the same in the first meeting with Augsburg last season, including netting Bayern’s 2024 Goal of the Year to wrap up the 3-0 win in November.
The Leipzig hat-trick was Kane’s eighth in 64 appearances in the Bundesliga – the same number he managed in 320 English Premier League games for Tottenham Hotspur. Harry is currently the only player in Bundesliga history to have scored more goals (65) than games he’s played.
Olise the European benchmark

Bayern have another forward in seemingly constant good form in Olise. Our No.17 has either scored or assisted two goals in each of the last five Bundesliga games (six goals, four assists). He’s done that in seven league fixtures alone in 2025, which is a feat only compatriot Kylian Mbappé (eight) can top around Europe’s top five leagues.
Kane, Olise and the rest of the Bayern team will want to continue their free-scoring form in Augsburg on Saturday.
