Best atmosphere at FC Bayern's traditional Wiesn visit

One day after their convincing 3-0 away win at Eintracht Frankfurt, the FC Bayern players, coaching staff and management had a fixed date in their calendars on Sunday: the traditional visit to Munich's Oktoberfest. On the last day of the festival, the team – accompanied by their families and dressed for the occassion – gathered at the Theresienwiese to celebrate together in a relaxed atmosphere.

The mood could hardly have been better as the Munich men toasted a perfect start to the season with 10 wins in 10 games in all competitions. After the 5-1 win at Pafos in midweek, the German record champions continued their outstanding early form again in the Bundesliga Topspiel on Saturday evening. “Obviously, it’s most fun when we win during Oktoberfest,” said captain Manuel Neuer. “Now we can all go to the Wiesn feeling free and relaxed.”

Joshua Kimmich also stressed that sporting success is the basis for everything. “Work first, then pleasure,” said the midfield strategist on Sunday – and added with regards to current form: “It’s looking really good on the pitch and the mood in the dressing room is also suitably positive.”

Organised by partner Paulaner, Harry Kane and Co sat together for hours in the Käfer Wiesn-Schänke. Particularly for summer signings Luis Díaz, Nicolas Jackson, Jonathan Tah and Tom Bischof, it was a nice opportunity to get to know team-mates and their families. Serge Gnabry announced that he would try to take some of his teammates along later – after all, Oktoberfest was completely new territory for many of them. “The mood is good and it’s going to be a nice day,” said the winger.

After the visit to Oktoberfest, the majority of the FCB first team are heading off to their national teams. The first match after the international break is a real cracker: on Saturday 18 October, Borussia Dortmund visit the Allianz Arena at 18:30 CEST for a top-of-the-table Bundesliga clash. “We’ll obviously try to take this mood into the next games,” added Neuer.
