The fact that Bayern are heading into the Bavarian derby against FC Augsburg as commanding league leaders is thanks in no small part to their outstanding attack. In their last Bundesliga outing against RB Leipzig (5-1), all five goals came after the break. Vincent Kompany's side have now scored 42 goals in the second half of a game in the current competition (all other teams have scored a maximum of 19). To put that into perspective, no other Bundesliga team has scored more than 38 goals in the league this season, so Bayern have not only scored the most goals, but needed only around half the time to do so.
The Munich side have scored 24 goals in the final quarter of an hour alone in 2025/26. The Bundesliga record for an entire season stands at 30 goals from the 76th minute onwards, set by Mönchengladbach in the 1983/84 campaign. As a reminder, Bayern will be playing what will be only their 19th game of the season against FCA this weekend. We've put together all the key facts relating to the match for you.
A season of superlatives

It doesn't get much better than this! With 50 points after 18 games, FC Bayern are enjoying their best season in Bundesliga history – only Bayern themselves achieved the same number of points after 18 games in 2013/14 under Pep Guardiola. Stretching back to last season, the Munich men haven't lost a game since their 3-2 home defeat to Bochum last March, meaning they're now undefeated in 27 Bundesliga games (22 wins, five draws). No other team in Europe's top five leagues has gone this long without defeat this season.
Clear trend in Bavarian derby
If you can take the bus to a game, then it's a derby, said coach Vincent Kompany ahead of the clash with FCA in the first half of the season. And it was with the seriousness of a derby that the Munich men approached their recent encounters with Augsburg: Since their 1-0 away defeat in Augsburg in September 2022, FCB have celebrated six Bundesliga victories in a row against FCA. Among all current Bundesliga clubs, Bayern have a higher points average (2.54) only against VfL Wolfsburg than against their Bavarian neighbours (2.45) in this competition.

Never give up!
Bayern were behind at the break in Leipzig for the first time in this Bundesliga campaign – before really turning up the heat in the second half. Overall, the record champions have already picked up 14 points after falling behind this season. That's the best stats in the league and already equals Bayern's total for the whole of last season. It's a different picture for our opponents: only FC Augsburg and RB Leipzig haven't picked up a single point after falling behind, but FCA have actually already squandered 12 points after taking the lead – only VfL Wolfsburg (15) and 1. FC Köln (13) have thrown more away.
Comebacks like that would not be possible for Bayern without the right willingness to run. On average, the Munich side have clocked up almost 124 kilometres per game this season (the best in the league) – most recently in Leipzig, they ran six kilometres further than their opponents in the second half alone.
Bayern's fearsome trio
In terms of scoring stats, Bayern's attacking trio of Harry Kane (25 points – 21 goals, four assists), Michael Olise (23 – 10 goals, 13 assists) and Luis Díaz (18 – 9 goals, 9 assists) occupy first to third place in the Bundesliga. Between them, the three have been directly involved in 66 goals. By way of comparison, in the five years in which Robert Lewandowski, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribéry formed a no less aggressive attacking trio at Bayern (2014 to 2019), they recorded a maximum of 37 goal contributions after 18 matchdays.
Incidentally, there's a good chance that Harry Kane will be able to extend his lead in the standings against Augsburg. The Englishman has notched up more goals and assists against FCA than against any other club in the Bundesliga (seven goals and two assists in just five games).
