Michael Olise is the FC Bayern Player of the Month for January 2026

The Champions League game at PSV Eindhoven at the end of last month was not only extraordinary because of Bayern’s unusual choice of kit. The 2-1 victory over the Dutch champions was the sole fixture in January in which Michael Olise was not directly involved in a goal for FCB. The Frenchman has been dazzling defences since the start of the year, racking up 11 goal contributions in the first month of 2026 – he scored three goals himself and set up another eight. And by way of explanation, it should be added that Olise only came on in the 71st minute in Eindhoven.

With numbers like that, it goes without saying that the winger was very much in favour with the Bayern fans and has claimed the title of Player of the Month for January. With 31 percent of the votes, he came out on top ahead of teammates Harry Kane (14%) and Luis Díaz (13%). It’s the second time Olise has won the award already this season after his prize in August.

Impressive run in the Bundesliga

Olise’s blistering display at RB Leipzig was particularly memorable. Having been brought on in the 56th minute, he almost single-handedly fired Bayern to a 5-1 victory with a goal and three assists. And to the delight of all Bayern supporters, the 24-year-old has carried his brilliant form into February, registering an assist for the sixth successive Bundesliga game in the 5-1 win against Hoffenheim. Since detailed data collection began, only club legend Thomas Müller in 2021 (seven in a row) has previously achieved that feat.
