On the second day of the Audi Summer Tour, the FC Bayern first team trained in front of fans in Seoul for the first time. While the players got down to work on the pitch of the World Cup Stadium, there was lots on offer for supporters around the ground, too. fcbayern.com has rounded up how Joshua Kimmich, Minjae Kim and Co spent their second day in the South Korean capital.
Neuer, Goretzka & Guerreiro guests at adidas
FCB partner adidas invited its employees to an exclusive event in the early afternoon. Manuel Neuer, Leon Goretzka and Raphaël Guerreiro visited the sporting goods manufacturer's office in Seoul. The programme included a question-and-answer session with the managing director as well as a meet & greet with the employees, who took the opportunity to take a photo with the Bayern players and get autographs.
Müller, Laimer & Minjae unveil new Audi models
In the IFC Mall not far from the players' hotel in Seoul, the several hundred fans of Thomas Müller, Konrad Laimer and Minjae not only got to see great new models from automotive partner Audi, which the players ceremoniously unveiled, but also spontaneously received a little Bavarian language lesson from their Korean compatriot: "Servus, ich bin Minjae," Kim called into the multi-storey glossy complex, where fashion stores, snack bars and shops line up side by side. The supporters stood tightly packed against the railings and responded with cheers.
Kimmich visits SAP office in Seoul
The joy was written all over Kimmich's face. When the 29-year-old visited the SAP branch in Seoul on Friday, he was greeted at a lavish reception with chants from the employees present and the anthem "Star of the South" blaring in the background. Kimmich introduced himself, took part in a competition and showed off his sporting prowess at the Korean sport of Jegichagias he had to keep up the ball as much as possible. The Bayern man thanked everyone at the end and was given a thunderous round of applause.
Gnabry at virtual Viessmann meet & greet
Serge Gnabry joined a virtual meet & greet hosted by partner Viessmann live from the team hotel in the afternoon. The climate solutions company offered its Chinese customers the opportunity for a virtual meeting with the FCB attacker, who took plenty of time to answer questions and showed great interest in China and football in the East Asian country.
Open training with varied programme
On the day before the friendly against Tottenham, FCB held an open training session at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. For around an hour, head coach Vincent Kompany's trained in glorious weather in the afternoon. As well as coordination exercises, the Bavarians also did a passing and finishing drill, followed by a 10-a-side game with two big goals. After working up a sweat, the players made time for a meet & greet with the fans. There was lots going on outside the arena, too. From 14:00 to 22:00 local time, the FCB Fanzone in conjunction with Audi opened its doors, where supporters could get a look at the latest models from the car manufacturer as well as shop for Bayern merchandise.
Other media engagements
Our players were also on hand for various media engagements on Friday between training sessions. Josip Stanišić and Aleksandar Pavlović, for example, spent time producing content for the DFL and South Korean influence 1star.
