Latest news from FC Bayern
FCB Women hit the ground running in the league following the international break: The reigning double winners celebrated a well-deserved 4-1 victory against SGS Essen. Although the Munich side fell behind in the second minute, they went on to secure a comfortable victory thanks to a brace from Lea Schüller and goals from Pernille Harder and Linda Dallmann.
There were also four milestones to celebrate: Schüller scored her 100th competitive goal for FCB Women, Georgia Stanway made her 100th appearance in a Bayern jersey, 17-year-old Luzie Zähringer made her Bundesliga debut and Maria Plattner made her first appearance for FC Bayern's first team in a competitive match. FCB Women travel to Nürnberg as league leaders with a three-point cushion over VfL Wolfsburg.

The opponents: FC Nürnberg
Promoted side Nürnberg have been in impressive form so far. In recent weeks, they've built up a lot of confidence, with the only setback coming on the last matchday, when head coach Thomas Oostendorp's team lost 3-0 at Köln. They currently sit in tenth place in the table on nine points.
FC Bayern Women' are not treating this match as a walkover. In the 2023/24 season, the Munich side had to settle for a 1-1 draw away from home. In front of a home crowd, however, they easily won the reverse fixture 4-0. On that occasion, Pernille Harder dazzled with a hat-trick, laying the foundations for the emphatic win.

Pre-match quotes
José Barcala: "Nürnberg are aggressive in transitional moments. They have good wingers and counter-attack at lightning speed after winning the ball. Our aim is to keep things tight and impose our game on the pitch. Nürnberg will press early and high, and at the same time be able to defend deep. That's why our key is to be patient - we have to stay composed, control the ball and strike at the right moment."
Franziska Kett: "It'll certainly be a difficult game. Nürnberg will be highly motivated in front of their home crowd and will give 100 per cent. I expect them to play very deep and defend as a tight unit. That's why we'll have to be at our best right from the word go and impose our game on the pitch - and we intend to take all three points home with us."
