Seven days after the first of two pre-season friendlies against Tottenham Hotspur, FC Bayern come up against the Premier League team once again. After the first encounter between the two historic clubs took place in Seoul during the Audi Summer 2024, the second will be played in Lonodn, over 8,850 kilometres away.

The state of play for Bayern
After the two friendlies against lower-league teams FC Rottach Egern (14-1) and 1. FC Düren (1-1), Vincent Kompany's men put in a strong display in their test against the North Londoners at the Seoul World Cup Stadium last Saturday, deservedly winning 2-1. In the first half in particular, the Munich men impressed with their pressing and nice combination play. Goalscorers Gabriel Vidović, Leon Goretzka and Co now want to back up that performance in the Visit Malta Cup at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Bayern fans and Serge Gnabry don't need reminding of the German record champions' only previous visit to Spurs' stadium, which opened in 2019. In the group stage of the Champions League, FCB enjoyed a perfect night, thrashing Tottenham 7-2. Winger Gnabry scored four of the goals, while a certain Harry Kane netted for the hosts to make it 4-2.
The 31-year-old, who along with Alphonso Davies returned to training this week, now returns to his former home as a Bayern player, as does Eric Dier. The English pair will be given an official goodbye by Spurs before kick-off.

The opponents: Tottenham Hotspur
After four friendly wins against Heart of Midlothian, Queens Park Rangers, Vissel Kobe and a K League XI, coach Ange Postecoglou's men had their first taste of defeat this summer against Bayern. The Lilywhites will hope to turn in a better performance in the 'friendly return leg', just nine days before they start the Premier League season away to Leicester City.
