Whether at the Allianz Arena, at the FC Bayern Campus or on opposition territory – FC Bayern again produced plenty of dazzling goals this year. From wonderful overhead kicks to stunning long-range shots, the Reds have spoiled their fans with several treats this season. Reason enough to look back again at the finest efforts from 2022.
1. Viviane Asseyi (2-0 vs. 1. FC Köln)
Hanna Glas hits a well-timed cross into the penalty area from the right. The ball loops over the Köln defence to Viviane Asseyi, who’s slanted in the air. She sends the ball into the right corner expertly with an overhead kick – wow! Bayern went on to win 6-0 and Asseyi’s goal was voted Goal of the Month for March by some distance.
2. Serge Gnabry (1-0 vs. Borussia Dortmund)
Matchday 31: Bayern can clinch the league title with victory over Dortmund. In the 15th minute, Joshua Kimmich takes a corner, Leon Goretzka heads it back to Serge Gnabry, who demonstrates his outstanding ball control, shooting technique and vision as he cushions the ball with his thigh and volleys it with his right foot to make it 1-0. The game ended 3-1 and Bayern were crowned champions.
3. Jamal Musiala (1-0 vs. VfL Wolfsburg)
This goal from the meeting with VfL Wolfsburg demonstrates what our wonderkid is all about: it’s almost impossible to get the ball off Jamal Musiala. He flows like mercury through opposition backlines. In this case, Wolfsburg’s Lacroix and Wimmer actually have him cornered. Musiala briefly tumbles, gets back up, goes round them and shoots precisely with his right from 16 metres. Oh Jamal! He scores impossible goals and makes them look so easy.
4. Leroy Sané (1-0 vs. Inter Milan)
The first goal from the current Champions League campaign is a thing of beauty. Leroy Sané brings down a long ball with his left foot in the penalty area, knocks it past the Inter goalkeeper with his chest and foot and then coolly slots in the opening goal with his right. Magnificent!
5. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (2-0 vs. Inter Milan)
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has bagged 11 goals in the first half of this season, but this was the best. 18 metres from goal, he hammers the ball into the top corner – no messing about and no chance for the goalkeeper. It was the last goal of FCB’s perfect UCL group stage.
